Minutes before midnight this Friday, what was going to be a party at the Rich clublocated in Alttus Square in the capital of San Luis de Potosiin Mexicobecame a tragedy that left two young people dead and around 15 injuredindicated the Attorney General’s Office of that state (FGESLP).
The accident occurred when a glass railing collapsed from a height higher than 12 meterscausing the fall of more than a dozen people who were at the location for the presentation of the Mexican singer Kevin Moreno, originally from Culiacán, Sinaloa.
Moreno, who has gained popularity in recent months with phrases like “take them out and HPNOIQ,” attracts thousands of followers throughout the country. The expectation generated by his presentation had led to a large number of young people to congregate at Rich’s club.
The images of the victims’ fall are impressive: everything was filmed by security cameras who were on the ground floor, in a video that illustrates this note. According to witnesses, the establishment was packed, which caused dozens of young people to gather in the exterior corridors of the club. The young people who managed to escape unharmed or with minor injuries began to run, many of them with blood on their bodies, while others tried to help their injured friends. Screams and cries filled the air, as those present tried to understand the magnitude of the disaster.
In response to the emergency, elements of the state coordination of civil protection, municipal civil protection, the capital police and the State Civil Guard quickly arrived at the scene. Of the 15 injured, five were reported with serious injuries that put their lives at risk.

Preliminarily, the two deceased were identified as Rodrigo Espinoza and Manuel Alejandro IPwhile the injured include Sofía Martínez, Luca Avilez, Ramón Orozco, Francisco Gaytán and Andrea Álvarez.

Meanwhile, the governor of San Luis Potosí, Ricardo Gallardo Cardona, issued a statement in which it demanded that municipal authorities review the operating licenses of the Rich club, as well as the permits that must be granted to hold mass events. In addition, he asked the State Attorney General’s Office to expedite the investigation and punish “the full weight of the Law to those responsible”.
In this context, through social networks, the singer Kevin Moreno issued a statement in which it sent its condolences to family and friends of those who died due to the accident that occurred in Alttus Square.
“It deeply pains us to know that some of our dear followers, who are an essential part of our community, were affected by this unfortunate and sensitive event. There are no words that can console the void left by his absence.“But we want you to know that we share your pain and we are here to support you,” the letter reads.
