Today, Matheus has risen in the fashion world, accumulating contracts with prestigious brands such as Armani, Missoni, Lacoste, and Calvin Klein, in addition to working for Mercedes-Benz and participating in renowned publishers such as Marie Claire Hong Kong. His history of improvement is marked by hard effort and dedication.

“It was hard work, but it fills me with pride. I always faced what was necessary to be able to evolve and look for a better future. I started producing acarajés at night and finished in the morning. After lunch I went out to sell on the street, until the At the end of the day, production was daily, because there was no way to store large productions at home. In Rio I carried a suitcase with bread, cakes and thighs, as well as a thermal bag with approximately 60 bags, which I produced myself,” he remembers.

For three years, this work was the main source of income for Matheus.

“The routine was very intense. I bought the merchandise, produced everything and went out to sell. I always worked hard to achieve better conditions. I already took courses as a barber, as a barber, as a pastry chef, I worked as an aviator, a cashier and then I started in the business. Today I work as a model in the international market, and everything I have done has helped me get here, be who I am and fight to achieve my biggest dreams,” he reflects.

Matheus’ path has not been easy, especially in his fight against prejudice and his personal acceptance as a gay man.

“It was a long journey of fighting prejudice, acceptance and understanding who I am until I was able to truly accept myself as a gay man, even after opening up about it to family and friends, at the age of 18. Today, being able to be part of such a beautiful and necessary cause makes my heart overflow. I am extremely happy to have had this opportunity to be part of this campaign, not only because Versace is a brand that I have always dreamed of working with, but also. for the incredible cause of the campaign, where part of the profits from sales go to the Elton John Foundation against AIDS,” he celebrates.

Currently, Matheus resides in Europe, settling in the United Kingdom. He has worked in Germany, Italy, Austria, Hungary and Polandand in addition to her career in fashion, she is studying acting at the Identity School Of Acting (IDSA) in London.

“It was a passion to see a musical for the first time, it only happened when I was 25 years old, when I entered a theater for the first time. It wasn’t part of my reality. I will never forget that experience. It was surreal and unforgettable, that day another flame was born within me, that of dramaturgy,” he says.

Matheus has also ventured into acting, filming a short film about Michelangelo in Vienna, which will be released soon.

“I still have a lot to achieve, but I value every achievement, no matter how small they may seem to me, they are great,” he says, reflecting his tireless spirit of improvement and search for new horizons.
