The batch of medicines arrived in the South American nation by sea through the state of La Guaira, central north of the country, and was received by Jesús Brito, vice minister of Resources, Technology and Regulation of the Ministry of Health.

Brito explained, in statements collected by the Venezuela News digital portal, that the shipment will strengthen the Metabolic Endocrine program.

He added that it will cover “all hospital centers nationwide free of charge and will benefit the entire Venezuelan population.”

The Russian ambassador in Caracas, Sergei Mélik-Bagdasárov, stated that the insulins are an expression of “our solidarity in protecting the health” of the South American nation.

He said that for five years they have had this program with the Ministry of Health of the Bolivarian Republic, through the Russian company Geropharm, which guarantees the production of insulin for Venezuelans.

The diplomat commented that for the first time the cargo was sent by sea, in which a total of three million 008 thousand 606 dosage units arrived.
