Havana, June 19 (ACN) Tropical Storm Alberto, the first cyclonic organism of the season, remains almost static in the western part of the Gulf of Mexico, reported the Institute of Meteorology in its second warning about this meteor.

Tropical Storm Alberto continues with very little variation over the western Gulf of Mexico, near the eastern coast of Mexican territory. This system maintains maximum sustained winds of 65 kilometers per hour and a minimum central pressure of 995 hectoPascal.

The central region of Alberto at six o’clock this afternoon was estimated at 21.8 degrees north latitude and 95.6 degrees west longitude, a position that places it about 240 kilometers east of Tampico, Mexico. It is moving on a course close to the west southwest at a rate of 15 kilometers per hour.

In the next 12 to 24 hours, Tropical Storm Alberto should maintain a similar speed, turning its trajectory west again, gaining a little more organization before entering Mexican territory in the next morning. Once on land it will experience rapid weakening.

This cyclonic system does not represent a danger to Cuba.

The next tropical cyclone warning about this system will be issued at six pm tomorrow, Thursday.
