The six-foot-tall (1.8-meter) sculpture of the country’s former president, the work of artist Sandy Williams IV, was placed in front of an elementary school last February, without anticipating the high temperatures that summer brings with it to the American capital. .
Washington thermometers reached 100 degrees Fahrenheit (37.7 Celsius) over the weekend, a heat that decapitated Lincoln, whose head has been melting little by little.
