There has been a lot of debate about whether it is better for your health to get up late or early and although it is said that both have benefits, this is what science says. We tell you below.

A few years ago the University of Texas released a statistic about getting up early and students who went to class in the morning had significantly better academic performance than those who went to class at night.

For this study, surveys were conducted with 824 students, who classified themselves as “morning” or “night owls” based on the time of day when they feel most productive or what time they would get up or go to bed if they lacked any restrictions. .

On the other hand, work done by Canadian scientists indicated that getting up early shows higher levels of “positive affect” in people compared to those who get up late.

However, in 1999 researchers in the United Kingdom said that those who get up very early generally have more stress and worse smoke. At the same time, they suffer from more colds, headaches and muscle aches.

The study also indicated that these people tended to have a greater ability to concentrate and to be busier during the day. Night owls, on the other hand, tend to be less busy and calmer.

This explanation assumes that cortisol is a hormone that the body secretes in response to stress to help that person cope with their problems.

Saliva analyzes carried out by the researchers found higher levels of cortisol in people who got up before 7:21 in the morning than in those who got up later (all having slept the same number of hours). Furthermore, the high levels of cortisol in the members of the first group remained throughout the day.
