This was announced via his account on the social network X by the Venezuelan Minister for Foreign Affairs, Yván Gil, who pointed out that this important initiative “has become a reality today and is the result of the vision of President Nicolás Maduro.”

In another post, the Minister of Transportation Ramón Velázquez indicated that today is a historic day for the airline Conviasa “with the departure of the promotional flight that connects Venezuela with China.”

“As a Venezuelan and as president of the country’s flagship airline, I am proud to comply with the instructions of our leaders,” Presidents Nicolás Maduro and Xi Jinping, he said.

“50 years of sisterly relations! We continue to win!” the head of state said.

The Bolivarian Ministry of Transport, on the same social network, stated that this inaugural flight will connect the cities of Guangzhou and Caracas.

The governments of Venezuela and China celebrated this Friday the half century of establishing relations with a series of activities attended by the special representative of the Executive of the Asian nation for Latin American Affairs, Qiu Xiaoqi.

Maduro received Qiu at the Miraflores Palace, headquarters of the Government, with whom he spoke about strengthening bilateral ties, in the company of Executive Vice President Delcy Rodríguez, the first combatant and deputy to the National Assembly Cilia Flores, Foreign Minister Yván Gil and several of his ministers.

The representative of the Chinese Government, together with the vice president and other authorities, also laid a wreath this Friday before the remains of Father Liberator Simón Bolívar in the National Pantheon, an occasion in which they valued the solid ties of brotherhood and equality between both countries.

Qiu was received yesterday at the Simón Bolívar international airport in Maiquetía, La Guaira state, by the vice minister of the Foreign Ministry for Asia, the Middle East and Oceania, Tatiana Pugh.

As part of his agenda, he spoke the day before with the Bolivarian Minister for Foreign Affairs, received a tribute from the National Assembly and visited the Cuartel de la Montaña, in the 23 de Enero parish of Caracas, where he paid tribute to Commander Hugo Chávez ( 1954-2013).
