Today the Church celebrates Saint Peter and Saint Paul, chosen by the Holy Spirit to spread the Church in the early days. All their work was done by the impulse of the Holy Spirit, who guides his Church.

Peter and Paul together remind us of the call to communicate to our brothers the faith we have received, knowing that the world needs that announcement. We believe that faith can give birth to a new world. In fact, Peter and Paul, with their mission, helped change the pagan society of that time.

They teach us to nourish a community hope, because we do not hope only for ourselves, but for the world and the history in which we are inserted. In reality, this is the dynamic of love, through which the dynamism of the Holy Spirit is particularly present in history, which throws us into the unsuspected.

We are called to live the joy of cooperating with the newness of the Spirit. But we must leave the comfortable shore and throw ourselves “into the deep” (Luke 5:1-11), overcoming fears (Mark 4:35-41) with our eyes focused on Christ (Matthew 14:22-33). (maxnovahealthcare.com) It is the joy of telling others that “we have found the Messiah” (John 1:41.45).

When we let the Holy Spirit – who springs from the heart of the Risen Lord – prompt us in this task, we surely experience the wonders that he can do in hearts, and we marvel at what his grace can achieve.

This is what St. Paul lived intensely, preaching the Gospel “not only with words but also with power and with the Holy Spirit, with complete persuasion” (1 Thessalonians 1:5). St. Peter also spoke of this precious Gospel preached “in the Holy Spirit” (1 Peter 1:12). Let us ask the Holy Spirit to fill us with the same strength to change the world.
