Damián Domínguez: “AI in architecture is already used and is also updated month by month”

“AI in architecture is already being used and is also being used month after month,” Damián Domínguez, an architect who graduated from the UNNE Faculty of Architecture and Urban Planning, told Hoja de Ruta. He pointed out how professionals use this tool to streamline their activities.

“Synthetically, they are applications where you upload the image by hand using a text that you edit, you indicate how you want the result to be and it generates a photograph of what you have in your mind. It is a description where you can place the contour, the context, the materiality and other elements,” he mentioned. “It also gives you several alternatives that allow the architect to choose the best one,” she added.

The architect compared the current reality with the Industrial Revolution. “That lasted almost a century and this is already here. And it is updated every month,” he said. “There are already programs that, in addition to shooting you images, shoot you videos,” he explained.

As mentioned, the advancement of technology is such that it allows elements to be calculated. “There are even intelligences that tell you how the house can function better. For example, the bathroom can be close to the bedroom or not. So, with several alternatives, we can show the client many options and explain them in an educational way,” stood out.

“This helps a lot to speed up the design process. The machine is not going to take the work away from man. Everything is in the human mind, this simply captures it,” he said.
