Arranged in the glass walls of the Atrium facing the Estuary, which have a combined surface area of more than 500 square meters, they have attempted “one of the most iconic images of the celebration at the passage of the barge both locally and internationally”, according to the Museum. Are two images, smaller scaleare what make up this edition of one hundred units numbered and signed by the artist and have been put on sale for 2,500 euros. Friends of the Museum, however, will be able to take advantage of a discount and access these for 2,000 euros.
They belong to the Shoot Strokes series, a set of photographic images of colossal scale conceived to encourage the Biscayan team and currently installed in the architecture of the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao. In them, DArío Urzay captures with the “brushstrokes” of his camera the lights of Bilbao and the estuary that structures his story with the colors of Athletic. As in a soccer match, the artist shoots shots with his camera in the purest style of Action Painting. Furthermore, both, like the two by the artist that are part of the permanent collection, have their origin in the series that began in the 90s, Camerastrokes.
