The Pallantiaphoto Photography Festival will culminate an extensive program of activities this weekend, after a series of events that it describes as “exciting for all lovers of this hobby.” Today Photovelada will present member collections on a six by four meter screen in the Plaza de San Francisco. It will feature a live performance by Stereograce, offering a combination of music and photography in an outdoor setting if the weather permits.

A documentary and masterclass by Antoni Canela is planned for Saturday. The title of the film work, Panthers, captures the majesty of these felines and their natural habitat. In addition, at 6 p.m., the author will teach a nature photography masterclass. The session will be a unique opportunity to learn from one of the most prominent nature photographers in the country.

On Sunday, the festival will move to Paredes de Nava for the Photoquedada. The day will begin with a photography rally, followed by a fellowship meal that will allow participants to share experiences and enjoy an atmosphere of camaraderie. In the afternoon, a pinhole photography workshop will be offered, in which this technique will be explored with the photographer Juan Pablo Minguillón. This event will mark the closing of the XI Pallantiaphoto Photography Festival, culminating a weekend full of inspiration and creativity.

In addition, these days the Laboratory section has featured Madrid-born Sofía Moro – 2023 Piedad Isla Award winner from the Provincial Council. The documentary photographer has a degree in Biological Sciences from the UAM and a degree in color technology from the Brooks Institute of Photography in California in 1992. She works as a freelance photographer, first as a member of the Cover Agency and since 2000 as an independent. She specializes in social reporting with more than 20 cover reports and about 100 portraits published in El País Semanal and other publications.
