Nydia Enid Rivera Ramírez, who has taken social media by storm with her recipes and household advice in “Abuela’s new thing,” is motivated to connect with her fans this Sunday with the official presentation of her book “Cocina pa’ mucho” at the Casa Norberto bookstore in Plaza Las Américas.

The creator of Primera Hora’s “Abuela’s Tricks” is happy with what this project is about, which immortalizes the cooking recipes she has been making for 86 years, as well as the background behind each of those dishes, from how she learned it, down to who she made them for, to photos of her dabbling in the kitchen at different points in her life.

“There are all kinds of recipes there, there are even sweets to cook, there is my life from little to the old age that I am,” said Mrs. Enid, with the mischief that has led her to conquer hearts around the Island.

Her granddaughter Solansh Mitchell Toro explained to this medium that the literary project took more than three years to complete after encapsulating some of the foods that distinguished the lajeña’s career, as well as creating an instrument that would serve so that other Puerto Ricans could enter the world of Puerto Rican cuisine.

“The book has three sections, the first will have well-known Abuela Enid recipes such as arroz con gandules, spaghetti with chicken, steak with onions, sancocho, while the second includes other dishes that are well known in our gastronomy, such as white rice, mofongo and even chicken in fricassee. While we titled the last section ‘Without dessert, we won’t leave’, which shows grandma’s sweet side,” the young woman explained.

When talking about this last section, the grandmother assured that there is a recipe for coconut limber “that, if you make it, you are not going to eat one, you are going to eat all the ones that come out.” Likewise, other sugary dishes such as tembleque, cheese flan, sweet rice, also have recipes reviewed by herself.

With this collectible work, Mrs. Enid seeks to connect even more with her followers and, possibly, have more opportunities to meet her fans in person. “There are many people who tell me on the street: ‘I’ll follow you! I follow you! “It’s kind of funny!” said the content creator.
