What are the main activities for today, Saturday, May 4?

With the weekend underway, the Buenos Aires International Book Fair shows a huge variety of activities that include, today, at 5:00 p.m., the signing of copies by the writer Mariana Enríquez, author of “Our part at night”, “Bajar es lo worst” and her most recent book “A sunny place for gloomy people”, and at 6:30 p.m., the signing of the writer Martín Kohan, author of “Confesión”, “Twice June” and “Bahía Blanca”, among other books.

In a fair marked by the political pulse of the country, Today there will be at least two book presentations about Javier Milei: One is “El loco”, by Juan Luis González, which has been circulating for a while, and the other is the one written by Victor Hugo Morales and called “Milei.”

10:00: “Nonfiction Writing Workshop based on the work of Michael Jacobs.” This free workshop arises from the Michael Jacobs Scholarship, organized by the Gabo Foundation and The Michael Jacobs Foundation for Travel Writing. The objective is for participants to appropriate non-fiction tools to improve their texts. Fragments of writings by Michael Jacobs will be analyzed from which writing exercises will be carried out in order to apply them to his own projects. Pass three visits: $7. 500 (seven thousand five hundred pesos). Exclusive online sale. The pass is personal and non-transferable, allowing only one visit per day to the Fair.

Free entry
Every day for children up to and including 12 years old, school visits and people with disabilities.
Every day for teachers. They must present a salary receipt or proof of condition.
Every day presenting CULTURAL PASS.
Monday to Friday: for students, retirees and pensioners. In all cases it is necessary to present proof of condition.
Monday, May 6 from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m., Tuesday, May 7 from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m., Wednesday, May 8 from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. and Thursday, May 9 from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Benefits with the purchase of the ticket
Each visitor who purchases a ticket (for any day) or pass (for three visits) will receive a $4,000 checkbook to use at participating bookstores once the Fair ends. Each ticket will also be accompanied by discount vouchers that can be used to purchase books at the Fair stands. Tickets of $3,500 will have 3 $1,000 vouchers and one $500 voucher. Tickets of $5,000 and passes will have 5 $1,000 vouchers. Each voucher of $500 or $1,000 can be used to cover up to 10% of the payment on purchases of $10,000 or more. The vouchers are cumulative, for example: for the purchase of a $20,000 book, you can deduct $2,000 in two $1,000 vouchers.
IMPORTANT: If the ticket purchase is made online, the checkbook and discount vouchers are collected in person at the Fair, presenting the ticket purchased online at the counters in the Central Hall (Pavilion 9) or Blue Pavilion.
