Volume G-2 in the eye of the hurricane was presented this Saturday in Havana, on the traditional Book Saturday, as part of the activities for the 63rd anniversary of the founding of the Ministry of the Interior.
With the presence of the Minister of Culture Alpidio Alonso, the volume published by Editorial Capitán San Luis, written by doctors in Historical Sciences Pedro Echeverry Vasquez and Manuel Hevia Frasquiery, the latter for many years at the head of the Historical Security Research Center of the State and currently deceased.
Echeverry commented that the book emphasizes the participation of Commander in Chief Fidel Castro Ruz and Army General Raúl Castro Ruz, in the attention to the State Security Organs from the moment of its foundation in the middle of the National Liberation War. against the pro-imperialist Dictatorship of Fulgencio Batista, in the Second Eastern Front Frank País.
A part of the volume highlights the incalculable work of women within the State Security Organs, their heroic courage and sagacity to penetrate counterrevolutionary gangs. And as an interesting fact in the intense investigative work, it emerged that only in the province of Sancti Spiritus there were 12 women who were State Security agents, who live in the humility of their greatness.
The book also highlights the Unity of the people with the Revolutionary Armed Forces and the Ministry of the Interior.
«It is a book that deals with the confrontation of Counter Intelligence with the aggressions of the North American intelligence services, especially the CIA, the book reduces the activity of the State Security Organs in three or four cases, in this case it concentrates on “four women who participated, one as an officer and three as agents in the neutralization and stopping of several attacks.” Echevery said.
G-2 In the Eye of the Hurricane evidence includes testimonies from State Security agents who were infiltrated in the ranks of the enemy, and evidence of the defeat of the Government of the United States in its attempts to annihilate the Revolution. The book was presented in the 2O23 edition of the International Book Fair.
