In one he is co-author and in the other, dedicated to Thomas Aquinas, translator

The BAC has just published two books on prayer. Always an important topic, but even more so in this year in which Pope Francis invites us to prepare, through prayer, for the ordinary jubilee of the year 2025. One of these books is titled: Prayer in a world without God. Br. Martín Gelabert OP intervenes as co-author. His contribution is titled: “Man as a praying being. Anthropological and theological dimensions of prayer.

The other book that the BAC has just published is titled: The most beautiful prayers of Thomas Aquinas. It is a very timely book, since this year we celebrate the 750th anniversary of the death of Saint Thomas of Aquino, which occurred on March 7, 1274. The book includes in the Latin original and in Spanish translation the prayers that Thomas Aquinas composed, others that are attributed to him, and although their authorship is not clear, what is clear is that they are inspired by the theology of Saint Thomas. And finally, the book includes a series of prayers to Saint Thomas, inspired by his Eucharistic theology and his Trinitarian theology. The Spanish translation of the prayers is carried out by Br. Martín Gelabert OP.

The most beautiful prayers of Saint Thomas Aquinas

This collection of prayers has been designed in the context of the Jubilees of Saint Thomas Aquinas from 2023 to 2025. It uses traditional prayers known since the 14th century. All are in line with the spirit and mood of the doctrine of Saint Thomas Aquinas, doctor of the Church.

«I praise you, I glorify you, I bless you, my God, for the immense benefits that you unworthily grant me. I praise your clemency, which always awaits me; your sweetness that softens your punishments, your mercy that calls me, your kindness that lifts me up, your mercy that forgives sins, your goodness above my merits, your patience that does not remember offenses, your humility that consoles, your patience that protects, your eternity that saves, your truth that rewards” (Fragment of the Prayer of Thanksgiving attributed to Saint Thomas Aquinas).
