The new editorial project reaches the scarce football literature in Colombia: “Atlético Nacional, I brought you into the world”. The book, written in two hands by journalists Guillermo Hinestroza Isaza and Roosevelt Castro Bohórquez, is a mischievous chronicle of the untold story about the creation of the most winning team in professional coffee soccer.

With a prologue by journalist Luciano González Sequea, the book recreates and delves into the origins of the Green Square of Antioquia.

“Thanks to the pen of Guillermo Hinestroza Isaza and the tenacity of another great sports communicator, Roosevelt Castro Bohórquez, these pages touch on that birth, that baby conceived in the midst of poverty, with sweat, tears and desire to improve,” González Sequea states in this book.

Two stories, one truth

Scholars of collective memory say that history is divided into two: official and real. The first is told by those in power, those who have the political and financial muscle and enjoy economic privileges.

The real story is told by the descamisados or “Sans-Culottes” who, many times, their contributions to the dynamics of human achievements are ignored.

Both stories run parallel and are valid in the construction of the social fabric.

“Those of us who love Nacional will find here a humble cradle, a group of children who never imagined that their adventure would turn them into the largest professional soccer team in Colombia,” says González Sequea, recognized as “The Green Prophet,” for his recalcitrant fandom in favor of the Purslane Team of Antioquia.

“This book aims to vindicate the real story. It is a colloquial and first-person account that sports journalist Guillermo Hinestroza Isaza shouted about the truth of the emergence of the most representative club in Colombian football, but that was not heard by many,” says Roosevelt Castro Bohorquez in the introduction. of the literary work.

The story in E-Book

“The high printing costs conspired to have the analog version, therefore, and being in line with our ecological times, we did the digital editing. “This is how we have launched it into electronic commerce,” explains Castro Bohorquez, who is co-author of other books. such as “Playing at Home – Court stories, tribune exploits”, “Antioquia Swimming League – 50 years” and a wealth of unpublished sports and football chronicles, which he plans to compile in another book that would be titled ““Stories around the corner”.

The E-book can be purchased at a price that is affordable for the majority of Colombian soccer readers. “Those interested in having it, can contact me at email [email protected] or to the cell phone-whatsapp 3004540686. There I will give you instructions to do it. We appreciate your generous support,” says Roosevelt Castro Bohórquez.

“Thanks to Guillermo Hinestroza, Roosevelt and those who supported the idea, we receive these pages written with mischievous, pure, entertaining prose, to be read “in one sitting,” concludes Luciano González in the prologue of “Atlético Nacional, I brought you into the world
