On the threshold of a new Olympic and Paralympic event in Paris, the book coordinated by Cosín takes on special relevance. After being presented last January at the Department of Sports, yesterday a new event was held at the Valencia Tennis Club in which some of the protagonists met: the judoka Almudena Muñoz, the lifter Mónica Carrió, the athlete Concha Montaner, the Paralympic cyclist Ruth Aguilar, the tennis players Anabel Medina and Arantxa Parra and the handball player Susana Pareja. As some of the athletes pointed out, the event was a true “reunion of athletes” from different modalities who met in those Games in which they competed.

The work reviews, one by one, the history of the athletes who have represented the Valencian Community, the provinces of Castellón, Valencia and Alicante, in different Olympic and Paralympic Games since there are records of Valencian presence. It also includes articles about women in the Games, reviewing each edition and each sporting discipline that has been part of the programs at the Games, with profiles of the medalists, key moments and anecdotes, as well as infographics, sheets or illustrations. It is a way to value and highlight our references in sport.

During the presentation, whose welcome and closing were given by President OIe Andresen, Olympic athletes such as Anabel Medina, Mónica Carrió, Almudena Muñoz and Ruth Aguilar participated, who reviewed some of the moments experienced in their respective Olympic and Paralympic participations, as well as underlining human messages linked to sports and the values of the Olympic and Paralympic Movements.
