Digital capitalism has emerged as a late and advanced manifestation of convulsed global capitalism and the crisis of the neoliberal model. In an attempt to “escape” from the systematic fall of the capitalist profit rate, this neoliberal model modifies, replaces or expands its classic logic of functioning in open markets – characteristic of mass capitalism – in pursuit of a logic of connectivity or of networks that operate in defined spaces and captive, precise and localized markets, in order to streamline and optimize production processes at a lower cost, as well as the possibilities of relationship and consumption of goods.

This book offers, from different angles, edges and approaches, a critical look at the emergence and development of digital capitalism as a result of the transformations and adaptations of the capitalist model on labor markets, the latter accelerated and maintained in the context of the pandemic and post-pandemic.
