Starting next Friday and ending Sunday inclusive, Pontevedra will become the epicenter of reading. From 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and from 6:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. (on Sunday it will close at 10:00 p.m.), those who pass through Plaza de la Ferraría will be able to enjoy workshops, conferences and even meet their favorite authors.

The eighth edition of the city fair with the most bookstores per capita of Galicia will have 13 bookstores, one figure that the Councilor for Culture, Demetrio Gómez, described as a “record”. There will be more than 90 activities for all audiences in which all the bookstores in Pontevedra will be involved. Almost 40 authors from Galicia will also pass through the Ferraría box with editorial news, such as Tereixa Constenla, Manuel Jabois or Sara Vila.

The Complete programming will be available on the Council’s website this afternoon and they have already been making advances through social networks. According to the booksellers themselves, the fierceness of the Federation of Booksellers “did not have the incentives it has now.” The Book Festival is currently an attractive event that has gotten “better.” Although it is difficult to quantify the volume of people, Susana Álvarez, from Espazo Lector Nóbel, indicated that “it is a space for us, the booksellers of Pontevedra, to put a face to each other“and added that the reading habit has increased since the pandemic and has been maintained over time: “We want to give readers the opportunity to meet new authors.”
