The Financial Supervision of Colombia (SFC) has taken measures against the company CI Comercializadora y Exportadora BCMSAS (CI EXPORT BCM) by ordering the immediate suspension of its activities related to illegal collection or unauthorized collection of funds from the public.

The resolution issued, number 0823 of April 23, 2024, It also requires that the entity immediately return the funds raised irregularly.

Superfinanciera ordered to stop business of CI EXPORT BCM

The investigation carried out by the SFC revealed that CI Export BCM has compromised to at least 337 people with a total amount of $10,064,380,253, without offering goods or services in exchange. The company promised fixed returns of up to 25% on investments over a period of 25 business days, an offer that lacks solid financial justification.

The entity mentions that the companywhich recorded losses in 2021 and did not generate sufficient income in 2022 and 2023 to meet its payment commitments, It operated mainly in the municipalities of Turbo and Apartadó in Urabá, Antioquia.. It used a third-party linking scheme through joint account contracts, supposedly to benefit from the marketing of bananas.

The SFC has sent the resolution and the investigation file to the Superintendency of Companies and to the Attorney General’s Office to take appropriate measures, including possible legal actions.
