The airline Emirates officially inaugurated this Wednesday operations for its new route between Dubai and Bogotá with a stopover in Miami, a fact that was classified as “historical” and that reinforces relations between Colombia and the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Furthermore, this milestone represents the “first major connection between the Middle East and northern South America”.

This was celebrated by the executive vice president of Ticket Sales and Country Management, Nabil Sultan, in a press conference at the El Dorado International Airport in Bogotá, where the airline’s flight arrived after the stopover in Miami and that, as of From now on, it will have a daily frequency.

With eight private suites, 42 seats “business” and more than 300 seats in economy class, Emirates, one of the most luxurious airlines in the world, will cover the Dubai-Bogotá-Dubai route with Boeing 777-300ER aircraft for 354 passengers.

The Boeing 777-300ER used by Emirates on this route also have a cargo capacity of 14 tonnes. With the operation in Bogotá, Colombia becomes the third country that the airline reaches in South America, as it already flies to Brazil (Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo) and Argentina (Buenos Aires).
