The conference, which was opened by Alberto López Estebaranz, president of the College of Architects of Segovia and by Susana Moreno Falero, dean of COACYLE, had as its theme “Urban Regeneration, for a cohesive and healthy neighbourhood”, and subsequently a local success story was shown with the presentation of the Rehabilitation Area of ​​the Jewish Quarter of Segovia by the architect Miguel Ángel Martín Blanco. At the event, the new direction of the 2030 observatory was presented and the final report of the team of experts who have developed and presented a set of practical tools and methodologies to promote sustainable construction with the help of SAINT-GOBAIN was presented.

‘Building in a Sustainable Key’ is an initiative that began last June 19 with the presentation at the Cities Forum in Madrid and will extend until June 2025, culminating with a National Congress after touring the entire Spanish geography, thank you to the collaboration of the Colleges of Architects. This project aims to provide answers to the main challenges of the construction sector in Spain, addressing the concerns of all agents in the value chain and promoting the active participation of citizens, who will be the main beneficiary of this transformation.

The director of the CSCAE 2030 Observatory, Mari Ángel López Amado, explained during her speech: “One of the objectives of sustainable construction is to minimize the negative impact on the environment through the use of eco-friendly materials.”
For his part, Sergio García-Gasco, deputy director of the CSCAE 2030 Observatory, presented the final report of the Task Force/Toolkit, highlighting the conclusions of the hard work carried out in recent months. The report is a vital resource that offers tools and strategies to promote sustainability in the construction sector.
To conclude and before the final debate among the experts, a success story in the field of urban regeneration in Segovia was presented, presented by the architect Miguel Ángel Martín Blanco, technical manager of the management of the ARCH of the Jewish Quarter of Segovia. His work in the area of ​​rehabilitation in this historic center is an outstanding example of how urban regeneration can revitalize historic areas, preserving their heritage and improving the quality of life of their inhabitants.
