The LATAM Group reported that it transported more than 32.8 million passengers between January and May of this year, which represents an increase of 16.6% compared to the same period in 2023, according to its operational statistics for the month of May.

The previous result is explained by the good performance at the national level of the subsidiaries in Chile, Colombia, Ecuador and Peru, which transported 20.6% more passengers compared to 2023; as well as the subsidiary in Brazil that transported 8.1% more passengers domestically.

For their part, internationally transported passengers increased 30.6% during January and May, compared to the same period in 2023.

In May alone, the LATAM group transported 6.4 million passengers, 11.2% more than in the same period in 2023, while it increased its consolidated capacity, measured in available seat kilometers (ASK) by 15.9%, driven mainly by a 27.6% growth in the offer of the international segment.

For its part, consolidated passenger traffic, measured in rented passenger kilometers (RPK), grew 19.3% in May 2024. Given the above, the consolidated load factor reached 81.4%, which represents a growth of 2.3 points percentage points compared to the same month last year, highlighting the increase of 1.4 percentage points in the load factor of the international segment during this period, which reached 83.5%.

In cargo, the LATAM group’s capacity, measured in available ton-kilometers (ATK), increased by 12.4% compared to May 2023, reaching 677 million available ton-kilometers.
