In this sense, Dongfeng Motor Corporation’s focus is on one of the most advanced Ubtech models: a humanoid robot called Walker S, who is specialized in building electric vehicles for Chinese automakers like NIO.
According to a report by Car News China, Dongfeng Motor Corporation and Ubtech Robotics have already signed a strategic cooperation agreement to deploy Walker S humanoid robots on an industrial scale on the automaker’s assembly lines in China.
The Walker S units will be responsible for manufacturing tasks such as seat belt inspection, door lock testing, body quality checks, oil fill and label applications.
The shared report explained that humanoid robots will work in conjunction with traditional automated manufacturing equipment to handle complex scenarios without human interference.
Regarding technical details, the Ubtech Walker S robots They are 1.7 meters tall and are equipped with a “fusion control” algorithm that allows the real-time communication with factory systems, as well as data exchange. The robots operate through 41 high-performance servo joints along with advanced sensory capabilities that can perceive their environment and interact with both objects and people.
As part of the objectives established in the new alliance between Chinese companies, Dongfeng Motor Corporation will aim to optimize its production practices using cutting-edge robotic technology and, at the same time, promote its capabilities as the way of the future in automotive production.
