New BMW X5 (LCi): launch in Argentina, from US$209,900

cCoinciding precisely with the 25th anniversary of the a micro-hybrid system that allows you to achieve greater efficiency, reduced emissions and increased performance.

In this regard, Ivana Dip, CEO & Managing Director of BMW Group Argentina, stated: “The X5 means BMW’s return to the large segment, a traditional fraction of the Argentine Premium market where the brand has always had great roots, success and tradition. “This is a vehicle highly anticipated by our customers and the dealer network, with the debut of the Mild Hybrid system to achieve better performance and allow greater fuel savings.”.

The new:

It is the update of the fourth generation of the X5 (G05), presented globally at the beginning of last year, with important modifications to its design, more technology and above all the incorporation of a 48V mild-hybrid system.

Starting with its aesthetics, the changes can be seen with the naked eye: the front was almost completely redesigned and now has slimmer headlights, with an interior design and a new light signature, incorporating Matrix Led technology with Selective Beam function, which adapts the lighting for different driving situations, avoiding glare. The grille was also slightly retouched – it can be illuminated, as an option -, while the bumper was completely redesigned and now shows straighter shapes. The lower air intake is rectangular and adds two air inlets for aerodynamic purposes at the ends.

In profile, the side gills and of course the design of the alloy wheels were redesigned, while at the rear it debuts new headlights with a light signature in the shape of a double inverted L – forming an X.

BMW X5 LCiInside there were also very important changes since the front panel was renewed to house the brand’s new 100% digital instrumentation and multimedia system, the BMW Curved Display, made up of two huge screens linked together – 12.3 and 14 .9” respectively. This meant that the air vents and climate control controls were also redesigned along with the controls located in the transmission tunnel. In terms of equipment, it incorporated a new camera that detects cyclists and pedestrians, even when they approach during turns at intersections. It also offers speed limit assistant with traffic sign reader, traffic light recognition and autonomous parking, among other items.

4-zone automatic climate control, panoramic glass roof, “Vernasca” micro-perforated leather upholstery, velor carpets, electrically adjustable sports seats with memories, “CraftedClarity” glass details, BMW Live Cockpit Professional digital instrumentation, BMW Professional multimedia system with screen 12.3”, compatible with Android Auto, with gesture control, Harman Kardon surround sound system, M multifunction steering wheel covered in leather, cooled and heated drink holders, Softclosen automatic door closing system, electric windows with One Touch, system of Panorama View and 3D View cameras with 360º vision, among the most important items.

BMW X5 LCiSafety equipment:

Front, side and curtain airbags (front and rear), four-wheel disc brakes with ABS/EBD/AFU, traction control (DTC), stability control (DSC), cornering brake control (CBC) and tire pressure sensor.

Additionally, it also incorporates the Driving Assistant package, a series of driving assistants composed of forward collision warning, automatic city braking system with pedestrian and cyclist detection, lane keeping assistant, adaptive cruise control, as well as the automatic parking assistant (Parking Assistance Plus), which memorizes the last 50 meters traveled

Mechanics:

The only version available at the moment has the 3.0-liter inline 6-cylinder TwinPower Turbo gasoline engine, associated with a 48V mild-hybrid system. Altogether, it delivers 381 HP between 5,200/6,250 rpm and 540 Nm of torque between 1,500/5,200 rpm. It is coupled to an 8-speed Steptronic Sport torque converter automatic transmission with Automatic Hold function and sequential mode with steering wheel paddles. The traction system is integral with xDrive automatic coupling.
