The Uber Taxi service is offered thanks to an alliance with TaxExpress in Colombia, which will allow drivers to increase their earnings by up to 30%.

“This recognition reflects the success of the Uber Taxi category and the excellent experience that users have with Paisa drivers,” said Camilo Segura, Uber communications manager for the Andean region.

That is why 4,600 taxi drivers in Medellín have joined the platform, generating additional profits of up to 30%. In addition, they benefit from the safety tools offered by Uber, such as the possibility of sharing the journey with trusted contacts, the quick call button to 123 and audio recording during the trip.

The manager assured that Uber Taxi has been very well received in Medellín, driven by economic diversification and increased tourism in the city. “More and more drivers are joining the platform, looking for a source of income that allows them to improve their quality of life.”

The alliance between Uber and TaxExpress has been fundamental to the success of Uber Taxi. “This initiative demonstrates that the benefits of technology can reach everyone,” said José Alejandro Hernández, general manager of TaxExpress.

And he added: “More than 19,000 drivers across the country already generate additional earnings through the platform, and we hope to continue growing.”
