Air Canada announces and puts new international route on sale. The airline today announced the launch of new weekly flights from Quebec City to Tulum, Mexico’s newest airport on the Yucatan Peninsula, beginning December 13, 2024. Additionally, the airline will resume direct services from the city from Quebec for the winter of 2024-25 to popular sun destinations such as Orlando, Fort Lauderdale, Punta Cana and Cancun. This expansion reinforces Quebec’s connection to key tourist destinations, offering travelers more convenient options for their winter vacations.

Mark Galardo, Executive Vice President of Revenue and Network Planning at Air Canada, expressed his excitement about these new non-stop flights. “We are excited to launch new non-stop flights from Quebec City to Tulum, offering convenient access to Mexico’s Riviera Maya, in addition to resuming non-stop service from Quebec City to popular sun destinations. Air Canada and Air Canada Vacations provide a wide range of travel options for Quebec residents, with easy and convenient flights to their favorite vacation destinations in Florida, Mexico and more. Stéphane Poirier, president and CEO of Quebec Jean Lesage International Airport (YQB), also welcomed the news. “We are delighted with the addition of Tulum to the range of vacation destinations offered to travelers in the greater Quebec City region and the return of Air Canada international flights from Quebec City to such popular destinations as Cancun, Punta Cana, Orlando and Fort Lauderdale. “Air Canada has not only made the decision to quickly restore its international air service from YQB, but has also decided to invest in our market by adding a new destination to the schedule for winter 2024-2025.” This announcement, the result of a fruitful collaboration between Air Canada and YQB, promises to strengthen the region’s tourism offering and connectivity.
