The company completed more than 30,000 meters of drilling and expects the project to grow in size.

Kootenay Silver Inc. announced that coring is underway with a second drill rig working at the Columba project in Chihuahua State, Mexico.

Current work is focused on extending the known boundaries of Vein D and the second probe is positioned to complement this objective by testing the southeastern extensions of Vein B and Vein B2.

The second drill hole will work southeast along the “Vein B” trend toward a priority target zone where surface mapping indicates that the “Vein D” and “Vein B” trends intersect.

The B vein trend is located along the southeastern extension of “F vein” and contains well mineralized veins as evidenced by the intersections above. Drill hole CDH-20-082 intersected 4.6 meters averaging 1,186 gpt Ag from 184.5 meters depth and a follow-up hole, CDH-21-112, encountered a core length of 2.0 meters with an average of 1050 gpt of Ag from 212 meters deep. The actual widths of both intersections are estimated at 60-75% of the core length. No drilling has been done on Vein B since 2022.

The current drill program is designed to find the strike extension of the D vein mineralization in preparation for infill drilling and a now fully funded 20,000 metre follow-up program, aimed at delineating a maiden resource expected by the end of 2024.

The second drill hole will assist this objective initially before moving on to test extensions of other known vein intersections and also initial testing of promising but as yet undrilled targets.

Kootenay President and CEO James McDonald said they have completed over 30,000 metres of drilling at Columba and we are very excited to see the project grow in size.

“We continue to advance the D vein as a priority, this structure with its high grade and a wide halo of mineralized stockwork has the potential to contain a significant resource. We are also eager to test our numerous non-drilled targets,” he emphasized.

McDonald indicated that the erosion profile on many of these veins has not exposed the top of the mineralized horizon.

“We need to drill to the end. optimal elevation to really see what these structures hold up,” she said.

Drill results are compiled and published as batches, drill highlights, maps and project sections are tabulated on the Company’s website at the links below.

The Company has completed over 30,000 metres of diamond drilling in 153 holes at Columba since 2019 and intersected numerous veins with high silver grades and widths indicating excellent resource potential.
