Newsan presented its latest Sustainability Report detailing the achievements achieved in 2023 and the commitments made to continue strengthening its sustainable development.

“It was prepared based on international standards Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) and incorporating, for the first time, the sectoral standards of Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB),” said the economic group focused on the manufacturing, import, marketing and distribution of consumer electronics and household appliances.

During the past year, the company worked on the analysis and integration of transversal processes and practices to strengthen and renew its Sustainability strategy, based on the 2030 Sustainable Development Agenda, global challenges and trends and its materiality analysis. In a challenging global context, Newsan has successfully navigated the transformation, consolidating its ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) practices in all its business units.

The 2023 Sustainability Report highlighted the following milestones:

  • New Sustainability Strategy: a strengthened and integrated roadmap that guides responsible and transparent management in all locations and for the 3 business units, based on five priority axes of action: Governance, Value Chain Management, People Wellbeing, Climate Action and Community Development.
  • Digital Gen and Agile Methodologies: With more than 150 digital initiatives and projects, the company has optimized processes and fostered collaborative work through 13 agile tables under a common agenda, thus driving transformation to achieve better results.
  • Innovation, Technology and Entrepreneurial Culture: Newsan is committed to training and developing STEM opportunities to create new sustainable solutions for businesses and communities. With more than 65,000 hours of internal training and 1,200 students in Newsan Olympics, the company integrates its technological advances with training and learning tools for the future.
  • #NewsanExperience: the transformation of the work experience to promote well-being, diversity and inclusion in work spaces, generating value for the more than 9,000 people who make up our teams through training in coexistence and intersectionality and various protocols for the eradication and prevention of violence.
  • Circular Economy: maximizing recovery and reuse in operations, promoting recovery and extending the useful life of products, achieving a recycling rate of 98% in production lines and reducing the materials sent for final disposal by more than 35%.
