Food company Prophet Premium Blends is recalling Diamond Shruumz (Micro and Mega/Extreme Dose) infused cones, bars and gummies from stores in Pennsylvania and New Jersey, including the states of Pennsylvania and New Jersey, because the products contain muscimol, a chemical found in mushrooms.
Reported symptoms caused by this substance include those related to seizures, agitation, involuntary muscle contractions, loss of consciousness, confusion, drowsiness, nausea and vomiting, abnormal heart rate, and hyper/hypotension.
Diamond Shruumz-infused cones, chocolate bars, and gummies (micro and mega/extreme doses) were distributed nationwide through retail stores and mail order via their website.
At the moment, 39 cases of illness have been reported to date.
States with cases include: AL, AZ, CA, CO, GA, IN, IA, KY, MD, MN, MO, MT NV, NJNY, NC, OH, PASC, TN.
Prophet Premium Blends recently received two complaints regarding consumers who became ill after consuming the brand’s chocolate bars. Upon receiving complaints, they reviewed the Certificates of Analysis (COA) of products that showed higher than normal amounts of Muscimol.
Prophet Premium Blends initiated this recall and has ceased production and distribution of the Diamond Shruumz product line while the FDA and Prophet Premium Blends continue their investigation into what is causing the serious adverse events.
The company directed and requested that retailers and wholesalers should discontinue use, stop distribution, quarantine the product immediately and contact their sales representative to initiate return and refund of the products.
Prophet Premium Blends will issue return shipping labels, verify inventory and then issue refunds, the statement said.
