Cox analyzed the comments he received in his early days on television:

I became better known with the case of the Chileans in Malaysia, so people believed that I was just a Chilean who was traveling through Malaysia, foxing in Southeast Asia, and that they just caught me, ‘ah, you’re a journalist, make some dispatches ‘. And it was not so.
“I lived in Barcelona, the channel sent me, I offered to go to Malaysia to cover that case. But they are stigmas. And what I am also grateful for is working at Chilevisión. I’ve been there for five years now, there were difficulties along the way, but I’m at a stage where I’ve been able to show myself as I am. And that has allowed fewer people to say what they said before.”
