As inadmissible. This is how the Eighth Guarantee Court of Santiago considered the complaint for serious insults that Pablo Herrera filed against the program El Antidoto de Mega, after the parody they made of him.

The legal action was filed precisely against the actors María José Quiroz and Kurt Carrera, who performed a crude imitation of the singer, whom they called “Pablo Horrores” and “Herrereitor”, due to his statements against street commerce and foreign criminals.

However, the court dismissed the lawsuit considering that it was a “humorous” program and in the parody “it is not possible to appreciate” a discredit towards the artist.

“It is not possible to appreciate in the actions of the defendants any intentional conduct aimed at discrediting and dishonoring the plaintiff.”the document stated.

In addition, they explained that the sketches made as a mockery of the singer “they do not constitute crimes”since they were made “in the context of a humorous television program”reported the media outlet El Filtrador.

“(There) they are exposed situations that may be absurd, sarcastic or crazy, but aimed at producing laughter or making people laugh”, they contextualized.

Finally, regarding the claim for the Intellectual Property Law, due to the use of his songs, the court indicated that he must “file a complaint that contains the legal requirements for the facts that he intends to report, as a crime of public criminal action.” Since, the events described are “subject to a different procedure,” they explained.

Herrera’s hope

“They’re not going to take it away, I’m not here for them to grab me for the lesson. I have a career of more than 40 years, people love me a lot. Just as I have talked about other things, I am not going to let them go over my head,” she added.

Pablo Herrera specifically addressed one of those involved in the lawsuit, comedian Kurt Carrera. “I really like Kurt, but sorry, he doesn’t make friends. It is not done,” he closed.
