Benjamín Vicuña, the renowned Chilean actor, will surprise the public with a new and radical physical transformation for his next role in the Chilean film “Que se acabe todo”, a plot about the corruption scandal that occurred in the La Polar company. The film’s poster reveals an unrecognizable Vicuña: stripped, with a more robust body and sporting optical lenses.

Vicuña, who plays Ramiro Tocornal, the multistore’s financial products manager, shared details about his experience in this project in conversation with Las Últimas Noticias. The actor described his character as “super interesting because he is in the shadows,” revealing the dark, gray and cynical side of him.

Regarding his look, which had not been seen before, the actor said “I think it has to do with the character, with the personality of the character. I think he enhances his role in the story.”

In that sense, he explained why he finds it necessary to experiment with a new image. “It also has to do with moving away from my own image or how the public perceives me as well. I have also been working in advertising, so it was essential to be able to get away from that common place, from that image. And take a risk with a character that the public can read and enjoy from another place”he expressed.

The interpreter explained that his striking look is not only a physical change, but a tool to completely immerse himself in the role and, in this way, enhance his interpretation. In this regard, he confessed with a laugh: “Yes, I look a little like Lucho (Luis Gnecco)”.

In this regard, the actor reflected on the need to move away from his own public image and the usual roles he usually plays. “Many times our work consists of taking off masks and being able to work from minimalism, from the resource of gestures and looks,” he indicated.

However, he took the opportunity to highlight the infinite possibilities that acting offers him: “But there is also the possibility of being able to interpret using characterizations, which is something that I like, that amuses me, that is a challenge for me and at the same time they are masks that make you act from another place. So happy with this project,” added the interpreter.
