Queen Letizia celebrates her first Mother’s Day with her two daughters away from home
There are many times in which the Queen has proven to be a dedicated and committed mother.
This May 5th is celebrated in our country as Mother’s Day. A special day to spend as a family that, in the case of Queen Letizia, will not be able to spend with her daughters, at least, publicly. Princess Leonor, whom you will see on Saturday at an official event at the General Military Academy of Zaragoza, is focused on her military training, and Infanta Sofía is studying the first year of the International Baccalaureate in Wales.
Although he has been able to see the Princess of Asturias a little more regularly – because she has traveled to Madrid when she has had permission and because, in addition, she has participated in some official events – in the case of Infanta Sofía, the situation is somewhat more complicated, due to the distance between Madrid and Wales.
This will be the first year that Doña Letizia celebrates Mother’s Day with her two daughters outside the home, although it is more than certain that she will be in contact with them. What’s more, it is known that, for the Queen, her role as a mother is very important, so much so that it has emerged that, since Princess Leonor was born more than 18 years ago, King Felipe VI refers to his wife in private. like ‘mom’.
Letizia, mother above Queen
Although not many details are known about the private life of the Royal Family – beyond some leaks or information that is officially made public, such as when videos or photographs are published -, through institutional acts or From the outings of which there is graphic evidence of the Kings and their daughters, data can be intuited about what Queen Letizia’s relationship with Princess Leonor and Infanta Sofía is like.
For example, although institutional commitments are governed by a strict protocol, on many occasions Queen Letizia has been seen sharing moments of complicity with her daughters, both with Princess Leonor and Infanta Sofía, or making some type of comment to them. or point out how they should behave in each situation.
Smiles, looks and gestures that sometimes cannot be controlled, and that bring to the table the most maternal side of Felipe VI’s wife, who has been described as an excessively protective mother.
Beyond what can be perceived from the photographs, it is known that Queen Letizia has always been very aware of the education of her daughters and that she has not wanted there to be differences between them, beyond the inevitable ones, due to the position they each one has to occupy in the institution. The Queen has fostered a passion for culture in her daughters, especially for literature, cinema and theater, but also for sport. For example, one of the most recent situations of complicity between Doña Letizia and Infanta Sofía was when they both attended the women’s final of the Soccer World Cup, while another of the most endearing situations with Princess Leonor was when he said goodbye to her, between hugs, upon entering Zaragoza.
