They put up for sale at $5,500,000 the loft that belonged to John Lennon and Yoko Ono, which the couple had acquired in 1971 shortly after the breakup of The Beatles.

The property has two floors, has a gallery-style space on the ground floor and 4.39 meter ceilings.

In addition, it has an open kitchen and a bedroom in the back. On the upper floor there is another large space for living and working, as well as a recording studio.

The sale was entrusted to JLL’s Capital Markets Team, led by directors Paul Smadbeck and Guthrie Garvin. Smadbeck noted in a statement to FOX Business that “496 Broome St. (the loft address) is both a unique piece of New York history and popular culture and a prime investment opportunity for the right buyer.”

Lennon and Ono only lived in the loft until 1973. The building has been frequently used as a workspace over the years. The property stands out not only for its history, but also for its location in one of the most desired and avant-garde neighborhoods in the city.
