He former president of the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) Luis Rubiales will sit on the bench on February 3, 2025 as accused of the crimes of sexual assault and coercion of Jenni Hermoso for the non-consensual kiss he gave her after the World Cup final on August 20.
The central court of Criminal of the National Court Has fixed 11 sessions, distributed between February 3 and 19 of next year, for the trial of Rubiales and the other three accused of coercing the player to justify the actions of the former president of the RFEF: the former sports director of the men’s team Albert Luque, to the former women’s coach Jorge Vilda and the one who was responsible for Marketing of the Federation, Ruben Rivera.

According to the ordering procedure issued this Monday, June 17, the oral hearing in which Rubiales faces a prosecutor’s request for two and a half years in prison -one more than the other accused- will take place at the headquarters of the National Court in the Madrid town of San Fernando de Henares.
In addition to the Prosecutor’s Office, they also appear as accusations Jenni Hermoso herself and the Association of Spanish Footballers (AFE), which request the same prison sentences as the public ministry.
The international also asks that Rubiales be imposed prohibition of approaching it within 500 meters or communicate with her for eight years and one compensation of 50,000 euros as civil liability, and another 50,000 to be paid with the rest of the accused.
The events happened in the past 20th of August, at Stadium Australia in Sydney, after the victory of the women’s World Cup team.

The public ministry describes in its conclusions a conduct by Rubiales “surprise and without consent or acceptance” of Jenni Hermoso when, during the World Cup medal ceremony, he “held her head” with both hands and “gave her a kiss on the lips.”
And he also accuses him of press “constantly” and repeatedly to the soccer player and to those around him to “justify and approve” the kiss that he gave him “against his will” in the face of “the personal and professional consequences” that he could face.
A “harassment situation” for which he also blames the other three defendants, “trusted people” of Rubiales who assumed their positions “under his mandate” and whose “privileged situation in the RFEF” depended on his “luck.”
Aside from this procedure, Rubiales is investigated in a Majadahonda court (Madrid) for the crimes of corruption in business and unfair administration due to alleged irregularities in Federation contracts when he was in charge.
