All of them stand out for being tapes of action, fantasy or science fictionbut today we want to remember his comic part which, although we now know that it is given a 10, many doubted that it could ever be achieved. All except Ivan Reitman, director of the film, who did know how to see the funny side of him.

Schwarzenegger did not want to pigeonhole himself into action

Still, Schwarzenegger was aware of the risk of the production. Until now, in Hollywood he had been known more for being someone tough, always prepared for action, whether with a machine gun in hand or with a sword, and in this movie the most dangerous thing he was going to do was try to give us a good laugh. Thus, the Austrian-American actor said in a talk, offered to star in the film for free. Free, obviously, in exchange for a percentage of the box office:

“I was convinced that I was going to succeed in a comedy, but I also understood the problem that movie studios were facing. So, to remove any possible doubts that Hollywood might have about seeing him acting in a comedy, Schwarzenegger made a decision, one that would end up being the best one he could have made here:

“Let Danny (DeVito), Ivan (Reitman) and I own 45% of the film. I felt: why should anyone pay me when they didn’t know for sure if it was going to work? I take the risk, you take the risk. In this way, both protagonists and director, the filmmaker behind Ghostbusters, Ivan Reitman, were paid the minimum stipulated for the film in exchange for having a percentage of the backend (box office, TV rights, merchandise, etc.) which, over time, was confirmed as a 10-dollar deal. So much so that, Schwarzenegger claims, he never saw any studio offering something like that again.

The Twins Strike Twice, with a budget of 14 million dollars, raised more than 216 million dollars, and was also a regular on television around the world for several years.
