The vehicle restriction applies throughout the Province of Santiago, as well as the municipalities of San Bernardo and Puente Alto.

The Ministry of Transportation (MTT) reported that from May 1 to August 31 The 2024 vehicle restriction will apply.

The measure establishes that in the case of catalytic vehicles with a green seal registered before September 1, 2011, a two-digit daily vehicle restriction will be applied in the province of Santiago and in the communes of Puente Alto and San Bernardo. The same for motorcycles registered before 2010.

The vehicle restriction this Thursday, June 27, will apply between 7:30 a.m. and 9 p.m.

The vehicle restriction applies throughout the Province of Santiago in addition to the communes of San Bernardo and Puente Alto.

Along with this, an environmental pre-emergency was decreed given the ventilation conditions projected for the Santiago basin.

Motorcycles registered before 2002: digits 0, 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5, in addition to being prohibited from circulating within the Américo Vespucio ring road.

Motorcycles registered before September 2010: digits 0 and 1

Cars, station wagons and similar registered before September 2011 with green seal: digits 0 and 1.

Cars, station wagons and similar without green seal: digits 0, 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 with prohibition of circulation within the Americo Vespucio ring.

Private, interurban and rural transport buses: digits 0, 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5

Cargo transportation: digits 0, 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5

Fines for failing to comply with the measure

If a driver is caught by Carabineros, municipal inspectors and the Ministry of Transportation failing to comply with the vehicle restriction, the fine ranges from 1 to 1.5 UTM, that is, between $65 thousand and $97 thousand.
