The “Diez” celebrated surrounded by his teammates and with a very special cake, made by a Parchment family.

Juan Carlos Urgilles and Ana Santantonio Urgillesin addition to their children, are in charge of the “Dulce de Leche Bakery”, which today made headlines around the world.

“The truth is that it was something unexpected. It was nine o’clock on Sunday night, the bakery was already closed. We receive a message from one of our suppliers; “He told us that a player from the national team had contacted him to ask for a cake,” said Ana Santantonio. “The supplier gave them our phone number, we got in touch, and from there a whole madness began against the clock to keep up with the times. We had to coordinate with the cake decorator and the manager and from there go to the hotel where the team was staying, about 45 minutes from the bakery,” the interviewee continued.

The Urgilles family has lived in the United States since 1989. They opened the bakery in 2007 and today they have three branches, in the next 30, 40 days they will open a new one in Miami.

“We always have stock. Luckily we already had the cakes ready, filled, we just had to decorate them. We ran to take the cake to the hotel together with my husband. In addition to the cake, we bring some thin dough and a crumb sandwich,” she added. “They asked us for complete discretion. We arrived at the hotel, where there was a lot of security, they almost didn’t let us through. We were greeted by one of the physical trainers in the lobby, to whom we gave everything we brought. The next day Leo published his photo on his Instagram and everything exploded. They started calling us from everywhere. “It was tremendous happiness, something very exciting.”

“This is a family business, we run it with my husband and my children Mariana, Julieta and Juan. We are proud of what we have achieved, with a lot of effort, since we arrived from Pergamino. It was hard at first, but fighting, working, we did a little of everything. One day my husband had the idea of opening an Argentine bakery, because there was nothing here, we do not come from the world of gastronomy, we are not pastry chefs or bakers, we were learning. That is why all this is a great joy,” he concluded.
