Suri, the daughter of actor Tom Cruise, has dispensed with her paternal surname on the occasion of her graduation ceremony, held in New York and which her father did not attend.
At the end of his term at the secondary school of La Guardia, the 18-year-old girl, chose to call herself “Suri Noelle.” The young woman also used that name earlier this year when she appeared in a high school musical production titled Head Over Heels.
Noelle is the middle name of her mother, actress Katie Holmes, which is what the young woman has adopted. Holmes even left the family home with what he was wearing after what would have been unhappy years with the Hollywood star, before filing for divorce from her. Her mother was at that event.
Cruise is these days in London where he is filming one of the installments of a new installment of the saga Mission Impossible and he had no intention of being with his daughter at said academic event.
Suri Cruise was born in 2006, just before her parents got married. The marriage to Katie Holmes lasted until 2012, when the actress filed for divorce.
In addition to this daughter, the actor is the father of Bella, 31, and Connor, 29, whom he adopted with Nicole Kidman when they were married.
