The Puerto Rican singer has visited The anthill this Thursday, June 27 to present his new single with Ozuna, Reasons. In addition to discussing with Pablo Motos how they were His beginnings in music and his upcoming tour of our countrythe presenter also wanted to know the most human side of the artist.

“You once gave one of your necklaces to a little girl,” Motos was surprised. The singer not only confirmed it, but also confessed that it is a habit that sometimes gets out of hand: “I go with a pile of each of the clothes prepared for the tour, and the part of the chains when I finish the tour is empty.” However, it is something that does not bother him at all, since for him it does not involve any effort, and he makes his fans very happy.

In fact, he is now on his most special tour, as his brother has started working with him, joining his father who also accompanies him during all his projects. “It feels different. Because I go to work and I am with my dad, feels more special. It is important to have people who love you around you, if they see you doing something crazy they will tell you,” the singer has been honest.

But the artist has confessed that all his achievements arose thanks to his time in prison: “There is a purpose for everyone. There are people who end up in those situations because they don’t comply and others that we need to go through them to find ours”. Just when his career was beginning to take off, in 2016 he was sentenced to 30 months in prison for illegal possession of firearms.

A process that he has explained is much more mental than physical: “I was talking to myself those ninety days. You are alone and you end up talking to yourself. You have five steps between the bed and the toilet. If you exercise and are used to eating certain things, you have to stop. It’s all psychological. It’s something you think about when you return.”

Pablo Motos wanted to know how he managed to survive that experience and, although he admitted that “it is not as they portray it in the movies”, the most important thing is the way people talk about you: “The way you walk speaks for you, and your words. Money is important everywhere, and in a prison the word above. “There are human beings in prison, many people who have made mistakes.”

And he recalled one of the hardest moments experienced in prison, where They put him in “the hole”, a very small cell in which the guards were the ones who controlled everything. “You’re like a zoo animal, every five minutes they spend looking at you. Even when you want to take a bath, it is the guard who presses the cell button.”

An experience that helped him grow as a person and that he still gets emotional about. Especially when he managed to get out of it. His father went to receive him and took his sonwith whom he went up to 15 months without seeing each other.

He also confessed that after he left, he spent some time without making music, as he was quite depressed: “I thought my career was screwed. Now that I look back, no, but I thought that at the time.” However, the music he managed to record during his time in prison became increasingly famous, and the same day he left herreleased his debut album Real until death. Album that, according to Rolling Stone magazine, is one of the Best Latin Albums of 2018.
