The model and former MasterChef participant had to step aside from the beauty pageant because she is facing a difficult health moment since she was diagnosed with Purgative anorexia.
This is about a Eating disorder where the patient restricts his/her eating and also has binges that are later compensated with vomiting, diuretics or laxatives.
“I realized that I didn’t have my problems solved and I wanted to be transparent with the people who had supported me,” he explained in conversation with LUN.
The young woman had entered the contest as a representative of the Pirque commune and was part of several activities and advertising campaigns along with other applicants.
Bárba Lackington’s decision
In relation to her problem, the young woman explained that “cWhen I ate junk food, which was very rarely, It induced vomiting but not on a regular basis. The regular thing in my daily life was the compulsive control of the calories I consumed.”
For the same, Barbara decided to take some time to focus on her health with a comprehensive treatment, both physical and mental.
“I want to get better and I want to be healthy. They told me that what I have couldn’t be fixed overnight, but I’m working on it,” he said.
