A macabre event shocked the community of New Jersey, in the United States, after the case of a Six-year-old boy who died after his father forced him to do an extreme exercise routine. According to the attacker’s argument, he made him run on a treadmill without stopping because he believed that he “was too fat.”
Although the victim, identified as Corey Micciolo, lost his life in 2021, the event became known only now since the trial against his father, Christopher Gregor (31), has just begun, where he was accuses of first degree murder.

Among the first evidence presented by the defense is the video from one of the security cameras of the gym where Gregor took his son in the building where they lived. In these images, you can see how I forced the baby to run on a treadmill while increasing his speed. You can even see how she trips and falls on several occasions while trying to keep up with the pace that his father imposed on her.
From that event, which occurred on March 20, 2021, two weeks passed until the accused took the boy to a hospital after he got up from a nap with nausea and difficulty breathing. According to his testimony, Corey “slurred his words” and said he felt bad. Once at the health center, they performed a CT scan, but he began to suffer seizures. Although they tried to revive him, the baby lost his life at the scene.
After obtaining the results of the autopsy, the case was reviewed by two coroners who concluded that the victim died from injuries with a blunt object to the chest, which presented evidence of physical abuse.

After the New Jersey prosecutor’s office presented the video from the gym cameras as evidence, The police arrested Gregor and he was charged with the crimes of endangering the life of a minor (for the recorded act) and for first-degree murder, where it was argued that “he caused serious bodily injuries that resulted in the death of another person.”
The attacker is currently being held without bail in the Ocean County Jail and, if convicted, could face a sentence of life in prison.
