Gonzalo Fernández Rodríguezprofessor in the Animal Health area of ​​the Department of Animal Pathology of the University of Santiago de Compostela (USC), has just been re-elected dean of the Veterinary Facultyto in the elections that took place today, Thursday, May 9. In this context, Fernández Rodríguez obtained 65 votes in favor and six blank.

The objectives presented in this new stage are based on making the planning carried out by the educational center within the framework of the 2024-2026 Strategic Plan and the proposal for the Degree of Excellence. In this sense, “the strategic lines refer to the planning of teaching and the development of teaching focused on the students and the future of the profession, the efficient management of resources, teaching innovation, digital transformation and internationalization and communication, transparency and transfer,” explained Professor Fernández Rodríguez.

All this so that the faculty fulfills its mission of improving the health and well-being of animals and public health through excellence in education, research, professional practice and service committed to society and “continue to be a reference at the national and international level“, he highlighted.

Gonzalo Fernández Rodríguez had already been elected in 2020 to direct the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine. The professor belongs to the INVESAGA research group where his work focuses on infectious diseases of animals.
