Since more than 30 years, Leben Health It is positioned as a headquarters for the training of specialists in diagnostic imaging and over the years it has promoted the residency system for other specialties.

Currently the academic proposal has 6 residencies: Diagnostic Imaging, Clinical Cardiology, Medical Physics, Intensive Care, Radiotherapy and Cardiovascular Surgery.

Diplomas and applause

The diploma ceremony took place last Friday in Cipolletti. The brand new graduates of the residences received their diplomas from the top leaders of Leben Salud in conjunction with authorities from the Faculty of Medical Sciences of the National University of Comahue (UNCo).

They led the event Dr Alejandro Schroeder, Medical Director of Leben Salud; the mayor of Cipolletti, Rodrigo Buteler; Dr Silvia Ávila, Dean of the Faculty of Medical Sciences of the National University of Comahue and Dr Daniel Ramírez, President of the Research and Teaching Committee of Leben Saludas well as medical directors of the Leben Salud institutions and Directors of Residences.

They graduated specialists in Clinical Cardiology, Medical Physics, Radiology and Imaging Medicine and Intensive Care.

The possibility of accessing quality and prestige training pursues a social purpose: to promote the development of medical sciences through teaching and research and assistance – diagnostic and therapeutic, in high complexity -, for the benefit of the general population. that demands more and more services.

For decades, Leben Salud has been carrying out a continuing medical training program articulating through the National University of La Plata, the University Residency in Imaging Medicine (recognized by CONEAU in 1999), and also working side by side with the National University of Comahue.

A team of highly trained professionals specialized in the care, diagnosis and treatment of various pathologies carry out the postgraduate training teams. From there, more educational training proposals have been added.

The Residences, one by one

Diagnostic Imaging: The Hospital University Residency in Radiology and Imaging Medicine, articulated through the National University of La Plata, recognized by CONEAU, has been operating at the institution since 1988, and has trained over the years “numerous generations of residents, many of whom today are part of our professional staff,” Leben Salud highlighted.

It contemplates deep integrated knowledge of Imaging medicine with a solid scientific basis with the most advanced technology today. It is accredited by the National University of La Plata and has more than fifty graduates throughout its history.

The residency in Diagnostic Imaging is made up of 4 years of theoretical-practical training and grants the title of University Specialist in Radiology and Imaging Medicine.

Clinical Cardiology: It has a 4-year training program that takes place in an institution that has the highest complexity in the area to assist patients with cardiovascular pathology. Doctors acquire knowledge, skills and competencies that allow them to play a social and professional role that impacts the prevention, care and treatment of cardiovascular patients based on the best evidence and technology available.

It is developed by agreement and with the endorsement of the National University of Comahue. Since 2006, it has trained specialists in our region and the country. This University residence is more than 18 years old.

Throughout these years, “33 cardiologists who we trained at the Medical Foundation of Río Negro and Neuquén have graduated. All of these specialists are working and developing without difficulties; the majority in our region of Comahue, and others in the rest of the country” , it was highlighted.

There are currently 13 residents in training and many challenges ahead: “addressing the changes in the personal characteristics and needs of the new generations of doctors who intend to be cardiologists, anticipating and adapting to the changes that the training of specialists requires, accompanying the advances technological in cardiology; make artificial intelligence useful and productive in our specialty; always and without conflict with our unwavering commitment to an increasingly humane medicine,” detailed the professionals in charge.

Medical physics: FM residency includes theoretical and practical training, providing the physical foundations for multiple diagnostic and therapeutic techniques. It is the scientific basis for the understanding, implementation and development of technologies that are revolutionizing medical diagnosis and oncological treatment, and establishes the criteria for the correct use of the physical agents used in medicine.

It already has six graduates and is accredited by the National University of Comahue through the Faculty of Medicine and by the Nuclear Regulatory Authority (ARN) as a regulatory entity.

He recently obtained the prestigious certification from the International Organization for Medical Physics (IOMP).

This residency aims to train professionals in three main areas of Medical Physics: Radiotherapy, Nuclear Medicine and diagnostic and interventional radiology.

The Intensive Care Residence This year it has its first graduate, after completing a 4-year training. The training program based on professional skills to be trusted, trains the resident doctor to provide assistance and manage the care of patients in critical condition based on the best medical evidence and technology available.

This medical specialty is a scarce and essential human resource for the structure of an institution that performs highly complex medical-surgical interventions and is an indicator of institutional quality.

It is currently training 5 residents. It is accredited by the National University of Comahue and is the teaching headquarters of the Higher Adult Course of the Argentine Society of Intensive Care.

Second Level Residences

Cardiovascular Surgery: Theoretical-practical training includes rotations through the services of: cardiovascular recovery, extracorporeal circulation, Digital Angiography, Hemodynamics, Diagnostic Imaging, Cardiac Surgery. She has been there for 13 years and already has 3 graduates.

Fellowship in General Angiology and Hemodynamics: It has three graduates.
