There will be scholarships for internal medicine students

The provincial government will offer support for the training and preparation of students from the interior who wish to enter a career in medicine. Minister Dib Ashur met with the deputy for Cafayate, Patricio Peñalba, to discuss this issue.

In 2022, a law was approved in the Chamber of Deputies that later went to the Senate and was approved. Currently, we are awaiting the regulation of the law, which has been requested to advance its implementation.

This scholarship law requires a budget for its execution. The main objective is to provide financial support to students from the interior who wish to enter a career in medicine, considering that there are fewer and fewer students from the interior opting for this career compared to those from the capital. and its surroundings.

The intention is to provide training and financial assistance to these students, since they must move from their locations to the urban center, face rental expenses, food, among others, in addition to study costs. The purpose is to increase the number of doctors from the interior who study medicine and receive their degrees, with the hope that they will then return to their places of origin to make up for the lack of health professionals in those areas.

Additionally, during the meeting, the problem of the Cafayate municipal landfill and the need to reactivate public works, such as unfinished schools in the town due to changes in government, as well as the reactivation of 97 homes, were addressed.
