Bogotá dresses in well-being and harmony with the second edition of the Calma en la Ciudad Festival. From June 16 to 23, the capital will have a program with more than 500 free activities and experiences focused on the well-being of citizens and collective care.

To welcome this event, Parque El Country (Calle 127 #11D – 90) will open its doors to offer a free outdoor yoga class this Sunday, June 16, at 9:00 am, thanks to an alliance between the Ministry of Culture, Recreation and Sports, and the Indian Embassy in Colombia, which seeks to exchange practices and knowledge around techniques and tools that provide well-being and harmony in the city.

The session will be led by yoga experts Pedro Keshava and Rafael Santos. In addition, during the inauguration there will be an Ayurveda and yoga for health workshop, led by Dr. Francis Kakksery, Ayurvedic doctor from India and Hatha Yoga instructor at the Shanthi Yoga International Institute. The activity will be free entry until capacity is reached, the only thing those who want to participate must bring is a yoga mat, comfortable clothing, hydration and willingness to enjoy a morning of yoga, breathing and connection with the community and the city.

The Calma Festival has established itself as an opportunity to improve the quality of life of the inhabitants, through various practices such as yoga, meditation, physical conditioning, conversations and much more. In addition, it expands throughout the city’s twenty locations with a rich and diverse programming, aimed at people of all ages and levels of experience.

Its objective is to change the rhythm of life in the city and promote habits in which physical, emotional and mental well-being are part of daily activities and the way in which citizens relate to Bogotá, to bet on improving health. social. This second edition, which will take place as part of the celebration of International Yoga Day (June 21), will have a program with three thematic axes focused on physical activity, body/mind and connections.

The first axis will be physical conditioning and will have activities such as outdoor exercise practices. The second is related to mind-body balance techniques, whose agenda includes walks along ecological trails, yoga and meditation classes, and activities to improve flexibility and circulation. Finally, the third axis is about connections and has a program of conferences and conversations on education, yoga, well-being and nutrition.

For the second edition of the Calma Festival, for the first time, 300 kindergartens in Bogotá were linked so that girls and boys could receive yoga classes in which they could improve and strengthen their flexibility and circulation. Likewise, the programming includes street residents with well-being activities that recognize their cultural, recreational and sporting rights.
