Justice granted him house arrest

This Tuesday, Cacho Garay was granted house arrest after spending almost a year in jail.

In this way, the comedian will continue to be imprisoned in his home in Mendoza, within the framework of the case that was opened against him due to the complaint of gender violence initiated by his ex-wife, Verónica Macías.

Although the defense had requested the comedian’s release, Judge Federico Martínez did not grant him the benefit and ruled that he remain detained, but at home, given that the comedian suffers from health problems.

The hearing was scheduled to begin at 4:30 p.m. and after four hours of debate and review of all alternatives, Justice decided that Garay return to his home this Wednesday.

The judicial order was issued yesterday and will become effective this Wednesday, after the comedian’s defense provides bail of $5,000,000. However, he continues the ban on leaving the country and the province of Mendoza.

Weeks ago, the Gender Violence prosecutor, Mónica Fernández Poblet, requested the procedural benefit for “Cacho” Garay to continue preventive detention in home mode after seeing his health deteriorate since his stay in prison.

Although the Penitentiary Service confirmed that the comedian could be treated in prison, judicial sources specified that he requires the assistance of a doctor more than once a day.

Cacho Garay appears in recent hours as a search trend on networks and in Google Trends.
