- After almost two years, there is no information that doctors had been hired in the call. According to the Presidency, they are still “gathering information.”

- Councilor Julián Sastoque filed a compliance action for the Presidency to respond if any of the doctors who applied to the call were hired.
The Government of President Gustavo Petro deceived more than 15,000 Colombians with doctorates who applied for the call that, according to him, sought to hire them in different entities “to collaborate with the leadership of the Government,” as he wrote just three days after taking office.
Now, almost two years later, Councilman Sastoque presented a right to petition to find out what the much-announced call had ended, finding that it was a farce of which not even the Presidency knows the results.
The response from the Presidency indicates that the information is being “collected” after 22 months of announcing the process, but they also tried to pass the responsibility to the Ministry of Science and Technology, which handed the ball back to the Presidency. An absolute improvisation with which they played with the country’s doctors.
In addition, there are several findings from Councilor Sastoque: first, the Presidency says that the objective of the call was to create a database, but it additionally recognizes that they selected 2,000 resumes for that database according to the order of arrival and that shows the blatant lie of Mauricio Lizcano who, as director of DAPRE, said in September 2022 that they had been selected by a special committee.
In total, 15,225 doctors registered trusting in being able to serve the country, 2,877 of them live abroad and saw an opportunity to return to Colombia but were defrauded by the Government.
Given this negligence, Councilor Sastoque resorted to a guardianship that was already ruled in his favor in the second instance by the Court of Bogotá and even then the information has not been known as to whether at least one of them was hired, for which he presented a incident of contempt to demand that the Presidency respond and, if necessary, acknowledge to the country that they lied to the Colombian doctors.
