With a successful version of Queen, the Boyacá Government promotes life in the countryside

The Department of Boyacá It is one of the most visited in Colombia for its beautiful landscapes. Municipalities such as Villa de Leyva, Ráquira and Monguí appear in the lists of the most beautiful towns in the country. The Boyacá Governorate promotes tourism, but now launched a campaign to promote life in the Boyacá countryside.

One of the advertising pieces in that campaign is very creative. It is an adaptation of the iconic song by the British group Queen, I want to break free, which can be translated as ‘I want to break free’ or ‘I want to be free’.

With the music of this classic that is part of the album The Works and that has been considered a song to freedom, the lyrics of the Boyacá version exalts the benefits of living in the countryside.

A video of the song is on the Boyacá Government account on the social network TikTok. The video clip has images of the unparalleled landscapes “of the little land” of Boyacá and its farmers.

“I went to the countryside / I bought seven goats, an olive tree and an almond tree / and here I am happy.” Thus begins the unique version of the 80s rock hit, which is sung animatedly by a man, who plays a guitar, aboard a car.

Then, the singer ponders the “mountain air” and “a lot of hiking” and changes the chorus of the particular cover to: “I arrived in the countryside” “and here I stayed”.

The adaptation is finished with this verse: “Not anymore / I’m not going to move from here.”

The cover has received favorable comments on the social network TikTok, in which the beautiful landscapes of the Boyacán countryside stand out.
